Growing up most of my life in Bakersfield, California, I attended West High School. An avid lover of sports since I was a little boy, I played football and baseball and competed for the physical fitness team – winning a national championship my senior year.
I then attended Bakersfield College before transferring to the University of Southern California, where I majored in exercise science. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California upon my graduation in 1987. I have practiced dentistry for 30 years.
Furthering my expertise, I have worked with and learned from some of the finest dentists in the field of dentistry. I am a graduate of the Orognathic Institute of Bioesthetics (O.B.I.), the Baylor Cosmetic/Esthetic Program, and the Masters Clinician Program – Global Institute of Dental Education Institute (giDe) in Los Angeles, where I was chosen to represent North America in the International Symposium.
I have lectured on various topics in dentistry locally, nationally, and internationally. I am currently involved in a variety of leadership and management programs. I am involved with and proudly support Billy Graham ministries, Equip, Growing Leaders, Salvation Army, Teen Challenge, and many local club sports teams.
I’m happily married to my beautiful high school sweetheart, Shar. My son, Andrew, attended California State University Bakersfield and currently works professionally in information technology while also maintaining his own computer business. My daughter, Brooke, recently graduated from Harvard University and plans to attend medical school.
I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my family, watching and playing sports, reading, and writing. I take great pride in providing excellence in my craft of dentistry by creating masterpieces.
